I've manually updated it to A.14 nothing obvious in changes except a few app grouping folder, will update if found anything

I have updated manually. Camera performance has improved slightly but still needs more optimisation. A few games which were not supported under realme game space are now getting supported. Overall performance and battery life seems mostly same. The touch sensitivity issue also seems better slightly.

Yes I received (A.14) OTA update yesterday itself..But there is no major improvement ..

I found better free memory, around 1.5gb free from 1.2gb before

It looks like a small update, but the interface is now extremely smooth
Version 1.4 was very stuttering while using the settings, even after 10 times factory reset.
There are some new watchfaces, and the translation in settings is also a bit better.
Took me a 3 a 4 factory resets to get this update, but it is worth it.

I don't suppose ambient has been improved? Low-bit ambient is just terrible. My only real issue with the watch.
49mm OTA

Got the update now.
NKernel works, rootable, TWRP tethered works on big Zenwatch 2.

Good to know, I was going to try flashing nKernel since I tried momentum and it seems to break wrist gestures, although it could possibly be something else breaking them on my device

Sideloaded the ota zip everything seems fine
Its definitly NKernel, battery feels normal on stock kernel.

Battery is draining fast for me on momentum so it looks like we'll be stuck with stock until the kernels are updated

Newest release is rootable, NKernel does not go to deep sleep. (Neither does Momentum apparently)
Kernel Adiutor is installable, standard tweakable settings.
Only one core active at stock, all 4 cores can be made active.
Frequencies 600 and 787 MHz, no Hotplug.
Governors available: ondemand (active), userspace, powersave, performance.
Thermal, GPU, IO Scheduler, LMK, Virtual Mem, Network Protocol is tweakable on stock kernel in Adiutor.
Stock kernel feels way more snappy than in older releases (I did uninstall some apps though), one core wit 787 seems to be as fast as 2 cores with 600 MHz Max in previous MM.
+1 for stock being snappier!

After this new update, my battery is draining fast. Poor update.
Is someone else also facing this problem?

If your have a custom kernel installed it will drain the battery. You have to run stock kernel until Asus posts new source and kernels are updated.
Other than that battery seems to be good for anyone who's taken the update

First time Sony user

Hey, i got a sweet deal for brand new Z5 compact, and bought it for a family member (previous phone galaxy s4 mini)
Compact size (and good reviews) were deciding factors
I'm a long time nexus user and don't know anything about Xperia in general, apart from reviews for Z5..
Can you help me with a bit of tl;dr what should i expect from software in general, and Z5 model? quirks, problems, something i should watch out for or modify?
I'm not gonna root/rom if not necessary, want a stock stable android and maybe cosmetic changes with a good launcher or similar
any help appreciated
Overheating, bad camera image quality, battery drain, lagging due to old CPU, 2G ram and aggressive throttling..
My advice would be get newer model instead like X Compact or XZ1 Compact if you have higher budget.
I'm a old Nexus 4 user too. I bought my Z5c when my Nexus 4's screen become unusable after it was dropped. I've installed official Lineage OS on my Z5c. I'm not a heavy phone user but occasionally in the day i look up reddit use firefox to read/search something and listen music when I'm using subway and of course use Whatsapp to communicate with my friends. I don't use Facebook on my phone. Installing Lineage rooting via Magisk and installing Brevent app for increasing battery life made phone my favorite. It endures my daily use for 2 days without charging sometimes it may go 2 and 1/2. The features of stock rom like Bravia engine were not interesting for me and considering the bloatware included it's hard to call that they are worth it. I generally don't use my phone as camera but sometimes take quick photos of the landscapes with scenic views. Camera quality is enough for me. I'm not taking 4K videos w/ my phone anyway. There is a feature of stock ROM that I miss though. The iOS like selection magnifier for text boxes was a killer feature of stock ROM. RAM usage dropped 200 MiB and responsiveness of the phone is significantly increased with LOS. It is a great phone overall.

Well, i bought it already X or XZ1 would be in much higher price range than for what i got.
It's gonna be very very lightweight usage, basic stuff only, so only thing that concerns me is that 'battery drain' after nougat update?
Is that issue fixed with some recent updates or still a problem?

Huh man, now i'm thinking of Lineage ^^ i know it's better os, but i used nexus because i didn't have time to constantly updating my roms and guessing will my camera work properly with new one etc.
If i decide to flash Lineage, can you tell me is it streamlined and documented properly for Z5 so i don't waste hours on research?
And also, is nougat battery drain still present? any major bugs in Lineage for Z5?
tnx for replies!
I'm running latest stock rooted. Having overheating and lags when browsing webs..
wipe calvik data cache...remove bloatware (spotify, moviecreator...) try again...after that the phone works as it should
100% use LineageOS. Performance and battery life life are phenomenal compare to the latest stock firmware.

I just tested to see how much battery drain will happen when phone is not in use, no sim card, connected to my wifi, with stamina turned off.
It's siting on my desk for 3 days, currently 45% battery left, thats not bad right? i'm sure that with sim card it will be more, but still..
If i go for LOS Can you tell me what version should i go for, for most stable performance? I see there is Stable Release Date: 2017-08-27..
tnx

Hey, look for the official LineageOS rom. There was an unofficial that was compiled by someone but it seems that he's stopped.
I've recently gotten an Z5 Compact too.

Overall it's a good camera in Z5C.
Camera quality is pretty much same same for Z5 Compact and X Compact, the XZ1 Compact has somewhat better image quality though.

Questions regarding xiaomi eu rom

If I switch from miui global to xiaomi eu using the twrp method, will it be possible to update my phone using the check for update option provided in settings, or will I have to flash a zip file using twrp every time an update comes out? Also, for those people who switched from global to eu because of the horrible battery life in global, did the change improve battery life?
Can't say about battery but probably won't be much of a difference...
I switched because of missing call recording feature on global
The updater in eu rom will just download the zip for twrp basically.
It is smoother than global. Also battery life has gone better for me.
surprised missing recorder called in the dialer after putting miui 12 , does it happen to others?
Battery life is fine I guess
Camera2 API was also enabled by default so Gcam should work great tho my unit seems to be defective
Stability wise it is based on China Stable Beta so BUGGY at times
You get more features not found in Global or other releases so that's nice
And as touch goes, if you got the lag/ghosting issues like I do then it won't fix it, sorry
for me battery life is better in global rom and i don't see any deference in performance

Question Mi 11X Pro(Haydnin) Overheating in Xiaomi.eu ROM?

Hi, I flashed Xiaomi.eu on my Mi 11X Pro but due to some reason it overheats a lot can anyone who has flashed Eu in Mi 11X Pro tell me if same happens with them as well.
Are you using Stable or Dev build. I noticed that overheating issue were reduced in recently Dev builds.
I tried both builds stable and beta the device overheats in both.
@termination5646 what are the advantages of using EU ROM. Also, how did you disable NFC via adb? Thanks!!
Mostly more features and MIUI dialer and Messages. Battery life is same as the Global ROM. Ram management is a little bit better. To disable NFC use the App Inspector to get package name and then uninstall it via ADB (NFC service). The speakers sound quality is noticeably better and louder. Downside is that it takes a little bit more time to charge nothing huge around 10 minutes more. Also you cannot use Google Ambient Display while charging and Google Discover also has issues. Other than that everything is fine. Also it does heat up a little more than it does in the Global ROM again nothing huge just a little bit. Overall device is smoother than Global. Performance in benchmarks is also similar. Also there's a chance that some of these problems might not be there in the stable Xiaomi.eu build. I am on the weekly beta.

Hey bro,
I just bought this phone and I'm thinking of installing the EU rom. What's your impression so far of the EU rom? Is it worth installing over the default Indian version that comes with the phone? Do you receive OTA updates? If yes, then I'm guessing you receive EU updates. Do we have to remove the NFC services again when an update comes?
Is the EU rom worth the headache?
