With each day passing Smartphones are getting more and more Pixels. In 2010 you have enjoyed videos recorded at 720p which is indeed an extraordinary thing but Samsung is going to take it to the next level by giving you phones that will have the capability to record videos at 1080p. Samsung along with the announcement of its Dual core processor Exynos has also announced two new image sensors, 8.0 MP S5K3H2 and 12.oMP S5K3L1 respectively. Both sensors have the capability to shoot videos at 1080p at 60fps, two times higher than the previous ones.It has been speculated that to process such an enormous resolution at 60fps Samsung will need more powerful processors that it has already announced, so we can expect that the next breed of Phones from Samsung might be powered with Dual core processors codenamed Exynos having the capability to record videos at 1080p.SEOUL–(Korea Newswire) February 10, 2011 — Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., a world leader in advanced semiconductor solutions, today unveils its new 1/3.2-inch 8 Megapixel (Mp) CMOS imager, S5K3H2. The new imager utilizes Samsung’s advanced 1.4 micron (um) back side illuminated (BSI) pixel technology to offer superior low-light sensitivity, satisfying the high quality imaging requirements of smartphones, high-end feature phones and camcorders.
“The new imager with BSI is designed to address the increased demand for 8 Megapixel resolution cameras by high–end mobile phone customers, and offers excellent low-light sensitivity as well as 1080p full HD video features,” said Dojun Rhee, vice president of marketing, System LSI Division, Samsung Electronics. “We continue to expand our product portfolio beyond mobile phones, to serve a wide variety of applications such as DSLR cameras, DVC/DSCs, camera embedded displays and game applications.”
The 8Mp imager provides clear and crisp image quality on par with point-and-shoot cameras, supporting up to 15 frames per second (fps) at full resolution and 1080p full HD video image up to 30fps. It also offers video recording of 720p at 60fps and VGA resolution images at 120fps for slow motion playback function all on a mobile phone.
Based on Samsung’s BSI low power process technology, the S5K3H2 is able to operate on 1.2 voltage levels enabling longer battery life for high-end mobile and smartphones.
In addition, as the slim form factor fits in an 8.5mm x 8.5mm auto focus camera module with a height dimension of 6.0mm, the S5K3H2 gives design engineers a great deal of freedom in designing camera modules suitable for slim mobile handsets and small form factor applications.
Samsung’s 8Mp S5K3H2 is sampling now and is scheduled for mass production in the second quarter of this year.
Samsung’s diverse imager solutions including the S5K3H2 will be displayed at the Mobile

what you want in xperia mini 2??

I want 3.2 hd disply,1.2 dual core snapdragon processor,8MP autofocus canera with xmor R sensor,front facing 1.3MP camera,LED near front facing camera(not on top),ICS with 4 corners,not more than 9mm thickness,white magic tech,divx support and ....
HD on 3.2 inch display is close to impossible, because DPI would be really big and then building it would be quite hard. Yet, it can change in the future.
LED on front camera....is it actually needed? You can't actually make 3G video calls(without an app).
Actually, the current Mini Pro is a great phone at the moment. I have no complains except for ICS, but we should be having it soon.
I think Sony will focus on bigger phones now, but if they ever make similar phone I'd like a 3.5" screen with at least HDPI resolution and a little better camera with dual-LED flash, because the current camera is bad at low-light conditions, and of course, keep this beautiful QWERTY keyboard.
Sent from my SK17i using Tapatalk
what i want is an sony xperia s, but with a hw keyboard
The same plus:
MHL, native 2 way call record, ICS and a slim design, because my loved mini is fat
I don't want any other feature in this mobile which is Made in China(best save money and purchase a Chinese mobile)
fix some bug likes back and menu key ,more slim but not to big ,8mp camera hd emm but i love my xperia right now 'pocket rocket'
i want 3.3inch like xperia ray, not less than 9mm thickness, qHD resolution, 8mp camera w/ exmor r sensor, 1ghz dual core snapdragon processor, floating touch technology, white magic technology, dual speakers, hdmi, ICS (upgradeable to jellybean) w/ xperia s style launcher, 1080p video capture, waterproof, shockproof then call it "xperia M" lol

I bought the last Samsung Galaxy Note

I bought the last Samsung Galaxy Note.
After news broke out about Samsung not releasing an update for the Note series this year and enabling pen support on Samsung S21 Ultra, I decided it was time for me to upgrade my old Note 8 to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.
I much prefer the smaller size compared to the Note 20 Ultra with the flat screen and plastic back. Together, with the ESR metal kickstand case, this will be my workhorse for a few more years.
I Will be doing a longer user review, so do hit the subscribe and notification button for the next video. #samsungnote20 #galaxynote

Took the Samsung Note 20 5G out to the lakeside with the Realme 7 5G for a quick camera comparison to test out how big the differences is between a budget midrange phone to a premium phone that is almost 3 times it's retail price.
Disappointed with the Note 20 selfie camera video in daylight and low light test. Rather soft, lacking details and stabilization is horrible.
Also, battery on the Exynos 5G model is totally bad!
Go to bed with 100% woke up with 80%... I had to force deep sleep to many app only managed to achieve 90% next morning.
Anyone facing this issue do drop some suggestions below on how to reduce the battery usage during standby. It's even worst than my old Note 8!

Issue with the autofocus in lowlight (due to removing ToF and not using the lamp)

Hi guys!
I am a long term (~10 years) Xperia's phones user and it is first time that I faced this kind of problem.
The problem: Xperia 5 II doesn't use the lamp to help itself to autofocus. Result - blurry photos. (check the videos from the links)
My thoughts: My previous phone Xperia XZ2 Compact had laser AF - no problems with focusing. Before XZ2 Compact I had Z3 Compact (not equipped in laser AF) - no problems with focusing, but there is a little detail. Z3 Compact flashed the lamp for ~milisecond to let the autofocus work (check the video). Xperia 5 II has camera from Xperia 1 II, but with removed ToF sensor. For some reason Sony didn't consider it and Xperia 5 II doesn't use lamp while there is no ToF sensor. The problem exists in Android 10 and 11. I wrote about it on Sony's forum, but I conclude that they doesn't plan to repair the software.
Question: is it possible to modify in some way the camera to force it to use lamp during focusing (with root or without)? We can't count on Sony, but I would love to stay with my phone if the problem could be solved. Beside issue with autofocus, in my opinion Xperia 5 II is free of disadvantages. Pitty.
Comparison with Z3 Compact:
Comparison with turned on and turned off lamp. Photo Pro:
; The main camera app:
Ps. 1: On the video you can see that I let the phone focus with lamp and after I quickly turned of the lamp before shooting (to take sharp photo without lamp) so no discussion about hand shaking.
Ps. 2: I forgot to switch the lamp to auto, but it doesn't affect the results of the test, while Xperia 5 II never turn on the lamp during focusing.
Greetings
Indeed the lack of of pre-flash, laser and TOF make it hard to focus in the dark. In such situations, I suggest using the Photo Pro app with continuous focus ON (this mode is not available in the standard app). Most often this setting allows to acquire proper focus except in total darkness.
Anyways that's what I did when I had this phone. See my post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/photo-quality.4159799/post-84192113
Easy fix, use a red laser pointer. 535nm works best. It will work at hundreds of yards out or close. The cam's AF with lockon fast and easy.
