Question Does your Poco m4 pro 4g have the following problems? - Redmi Note 11S 4G / POCO M4 Pro 4G (fleur)

1)Heating:
My Poco M4 4g heats to 41C while watching instagram reels.
Is this normal?
Does your phone do the same?
what about redmi note 11s 4g? is it any better in this regard?
2)CPU Throttling:
My phone throttles to 53% of max performance and battery drained 4%, does this mean for the most part this phones antutu score is reduced by half when CPU is throttling?
how much does your phone throttle?
3)DISPLAY:
My m4 pro's display is slightly yellowish/warm. Reading mode is off
Is your poco m4 pro 4g display yellowish/warm or blueish/cool?
My previous phone Vivo Y91i has a bluish/cool display the whites look way more bright and white even with low brightness. On Poco the greys like comment area on instagram reels etc... look yellowish, which looks horrible. naturally all the pictures I take look yellowish/warm
I tried setting the color temperature to cool but its still yellowish. I tried color color schemes Vivid, Saturated and Standard. Standard was the worst.
Can I fix it with the right settings? or an app (I hear those drain battery) or is there a blue tinted screen protector? (just throwing it out there)
4)Camera:
Selfie camera oversharpens, makes my skin look bad.
Does your camera oversharpen too? or is it just mine?
I tried Gcam 8.4.600 skin looks smoother but Gcam is only capable of making 4MP images.
Do you know of an alternative camera app? Or atleast tricks to edit the photos?
5)Screen on time:
I get 7 hours of SOT on wifi with 75% brightness level(I don't have a SIM card in it at the moment)
How much SOT do you get and what is your brightness level
6)Speaker loudness:
Before buying this device I checked GSMArena's loudness rating and on comparing with poco x4 pro M4 pro 4g was rated better. Recently I watched a video comparison where reviewer says its not quite as loud as x4 pro.
are GSMArena's rating wrong? or is TechTablets wrong?
Are Dolby certified phones like moto g52 or g71 louder?

The only issue that I recognise from that list is oversharpening, which the stock camera app is guilty of. You can fiddle with it a bit in the settings to improve it, but I've not found any other apps much better. I'm perfectly happy with my screen-on time, loudspeaker, display tint etc.
I would note that the display seems to boost brightess in bright sunlight which you can't adjust using the brightness slider in the settings drawer which is a bit irritating.

Heating up to 41C while watching instagram reels is normal on most phones?
Youtube reviewers said the phone heats up while gaming, which I understand and didn't care for as I don't game usually but no one oncesaid using insta heats up so badly, which would have made me reconsider my buying decision.

Will future MIUI updates fix heating issues ?

Mine is showing rectangle lightnings on the left half, like lines. It happens all day, I have disabled everything, back to cnfigure, activated/isactivated always on, etc. None has any result. At night, it resists to unlock so I have to push repeatedly the unlock button, the torch answers but the screen remains black.

I would just return it if its possible.

I think "Android system" has always been the top of the battery usage chart on every phone I've ever used. Try BetterBatteryStats for a better breakdown of what's actually using the most power.

Outdoor visibility (max brightness)

Rate this thread to express how well you can see the LG G6's display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Would've loved an amoled screen.
Well that's sure to help anyone considering getting the G6.
Are you sure it's not Amoled? Did you research reviews and specs before you were forced to get your G6?
Please don't reply.
Well i have used the phone in direct sunlight and cant really say anything bad about it is readable so tha i can take calls, read texts but i wouldn't go out and start watching a video since when i say direct sunlight its like 90+°F lol but if i sit in a sunlight area with a bit of wind then yes phone is plenty bright enought for me to watch content on and enjoy it
For me it deserves 4 stars. LG G6 is more than sufficiently visible under direct sunlight.
It's pretty amazing to me that nobody other than Samsung has figured out oled for mobile screens. You know lg has been working on it for years, but for some reason they just can't mass produce it. Samsung has it mastered.
Actually LG isn't really starting to dabble in small OLED until next year.
As far as screen quality goes I saw a review stating measured 557 nits, as bright as the iPhone 7. Color accuracy was better than the iPhone and S7. Gamut was a little disappointing with 136% sRGB vs 197% for the S7. All in all a great display, probably the best LCD ever put in a phone.

ComputerBase (Germany) even measured 624nits:

Definitely bright enough.

i didnt know that... i guess i meant they are far, far ahead of anyone else in mobile oled displays
im very impressed with the lg g5's display. super bright, very rich in color. and crazy sharp.
It's summer season where I'm at and yesterday I was at the beach. Visibility is low in outdoor bright light.
Probably a weird question, but how is this phone when using with polarised sunglasses?
My Z2 turns to black in some angles in portrait mode and completely black in horizontal.
Cheers
I will have pretty good comparison. HTC 10 was having highest ppi and regarded as the best lCD display. However outdoor visibility was extremely bad. I am not sure but I think it is a characteristics of LCD display . One thing I notice that even for camera HTC 10 was relying on display. Whenever I was opening camera app the screen was automatically turning 100% bright and then comeback to normal after closing the app. It happen with third party camera app as well. I will report once I get G6.

Don't use auto brightness. Auto brightness is buggy in most devices. Try to do it manually.

Yes it may be buggy however according to http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-g6-review-752130/
the LG G6 display actually gets brighter than 100% when it is set to AUTO.
"Putting it through our testing, we found the display to have a max manual brightness of 556 nits, which is boosted to a very respectable 663 nits when auto brightness is engaged under direct light. In sunlight, this is likely to be even higher"
I have no way to test this myself. The display is just barely usable in direct sunlight. Better than my G3 though. I wish it was better in this regard since I use this as my motorcycle GPS sometimes.

How much does the screen uniformity issue affect night mode e-book reading?

Reading e-books in night mode (dark brownish background and yellowish font) is the only situation where low light performance of the screen is critical to me. The QHD screen on the Note 4 performs admirably in this regard. The brightness I use is around 5%.
I'm worried the P-OLED might blur the font edges and give them a grainy look, effectively negating the benefits of a higher resolution screen over 1080p. I would not wish for any extra strain on the eyes; I tend to read every night in bed.
Any night-time e-book readers that own the V30 out there?

Asking for other e-book readers experience is smart, but be aware your "5%" on the Samsung Note 4 may be much different on other phones.
What is your "5%" in lumens? Give us a real number. Each OLED OEM sets a different minimum brightness level. Saying you like 5% on Samsung Note 4 is useless. That might be 20% or 25% brightness of the LG V30...
That's what Google did for the 2017 Pixel 2 XL -- even though they use the same LG display as the V30 Google set a much higher minimum brightness level. 5% of the Pixel 2 XL is 25%, 30% of the V30. LG lets their display get MUCH darker.
Here, go read this and look and side by side pictures.

Yes, I am aware 5 % on the Note 4 is not the same on the V30. I just mentioned it in passing, could just as well have said I keep the screen on "almost as dark as it gets".
I think a further question is, are the display issues less noticeable on dark brown/blackish background vs. the grey most comparisons use as the example?
I keep the background not-quite-black and font not-quite-white (in ither words: yellowish), because it's easier on the eyes than the contrast of simple black and white.

Minimum brightness

You don't want to give your significant other yet another reason to yell at you while you're reading XDA in bed. Rate this thread to express what you think of the Realme X2 Pro's display minimum dimness. A higher rating indicates that the display can get extremely dim, ideal for reading in very dark environments.

Confirmed. Sent mine back for this reason.
I can confirm this is a problem when display is low brightness. But if Flicker-Free mode is turned on the tint disappears completely. And the colours change just a little bit (only when display is low brightness), and not in a bad way. It makes white more natural. I will keep it.
It's an issue due to how amoled display's lower the brightness

Rest all high refresh rate have this viz.
Merci beaucoup !
good minimum brightness
It looks like the minimum brightness is on the same level with my old Moto G4+, which seems to have a minimum brightness of 25 cd/m².
But I can confirm a greenish tint (but I think it's not only in low brightness but in all brightness levels, just less visible with higher brightness). It doesn't make a difference if I activate DC-Dimming ("flicker free low brightness" or so) or not. And it's also visible in cold as well as in warm display color temperature. I use 90 Hz.

Yes they do... I've personally seen it on 1x S10, 2x S10 plus, 2x note 10 plus, 1x X2 pro, 1x op7t and recently on the galaxy tab 6. I've also seen people say they have it on mi9t pro and iPhone X.
Edit: Believe me this is a wide spread issue among Samsung oleds... I'm not saying every single person has the issue... But I definitely think most do but don't notice or don't know what to look for. There's no way that it's a minority when I've had 2x S10 plus and the X2 pro and my brother 2x note 10 plus aswell as tab 6 and his partner standard s10 and all have a green tint just to different degrees..
Edit: I'd also like to say it's not limited to region or batch... The first S10 plus I had was from Argos UK, the second from eBay and it was a Hong Kong snap dragon version, my brother's note 10 plus both was eBay, his partner standard s10 was if I remember bought from EE when the S10 range first came out.

So, those who were able to spot green tint, must apply for replacement then.
Well yes if it bothers them enough... Although good look getting a screen without this as my above message it's been on them all... As far as I'm concerned it's probably on most if not all recent Samsung panels... That's not me calling people who say they don't have it a lier... I just don't think they have tested enough... It's slightly different on each panel.
Just to add to this I've seen a mi9t pro tonight with the green tint.

You probably saw it on someones Mi 9T Pro who overclocked screen to 81Hz or 90Hz because on default 60Hz Mi 9T Pro have perfect display. You also said that you saw it on 1x S10, 2x S10 plus, 2x note 10 plus, 1x X2 pro, 1x op7t. Well guess what, I also saw that phones and they have perfect display.
Don't talk bad things about other phones if you have issues on your phone.
X2 Pro is really great phone but most of them have some issues with display because Realme had to cut somewhere to give phone with this specs for very low price so they ordered lowest quality amoled from Samsung.

Don't tell me what I saw or didn't or make out I'm talking rubbish.. the s10 is my brother's partner... The 2 note 10s plus was my brother and the 2x S10 plus was mine... The mi9t pro is also my brother's and he only received it yesterday no screen overclock.
Little update regarding the mi9t pro... My brother got the phone replaced due to heating issues... The new one has less green hue over grey but is still there but this time grey is not uniform and lighter or darker on certain areas and this gets worse when brightness is lower.
This comment is pure speculation.

I've attached a photo of my brother's first note 10 plus and I'll have a look later if I can find anymore... He actually posted this on Sam community.

I've attached a good image for others to test... Download the image and double tap in the gallery to expand to full screen... Slowly adjust your brightness while checking the image... This on mine is hard to see any issues unless in a full dark room with no light.

I've used the ASUS ROG Phone 3 for ~1 month, so Ask Me Anything!

Hi XDA,
ASUS announced the ROG Phone 3 earlier today. I reviewed the phone for the XDA Portal after having used it for nearly a month (I received it on June 26th and published my review on July 22nd.) The phone has a metric ton of features, so if you have any specific questions about the ROG Phone 3, feel free to ask me a question. I'll enable notifications for new replies in this thread so I'll answer them as they come in.
I recommend reading the following posts first to see if they answer any of your questions:
Our launch coverage: ASUS launches the ROG Phone 3 with the Snapdragon 865 Plus, 144Hz display, and 6000mAh battery
My review: ASUS ROG Phone 3 Review: The King of Gaming Smartphones is back
I have also answered a few questions about the phone already on Reddit.
Hi and thanks for the review.
So I have had Rog 2 since the launch and although it's great overall, it has some big issues on display side and I want to know if rog 3 also suffers from the same issues.
1.the first issue that almost everyone knows about is the gray color turning to reddish color on lower brightness levels especially on 120hz. You'll have to test this with gray color background in a dark room but I can notice it even in a normal lit room.
2. the screen is kind of grainy and has a lot of bandings. you can also test this by downloading a 5% gray picture and turn the brightness all the way down in a completely dark room and look for oled bandings and lines and grainyness!
3. Huge Black crush! If you search google for "black crush test" the first result is a reddit question that leads to a video of a test picture. On rog 2 only and only on 100% brightness all the squares up to 5 are visible but as we turn down the brightness almost all squares become black (although they actually should be gray) and we can only see the first three squares at the bottom.(255% 100% and 50%)
and that means if we want to see everything in true color and we are supposed to see, we have to use 100% brightness all the time which not only hurts the eyes, but also brings screen burn-ins in as soon as 3 2 months.
Here's the youtube link for black crush test
https://youtu.be/fv6T7aHsd54
I hope you can check these issues and give us real life feedback
thanks

can u check is the Rog phone 3 support 144hz durinng NETFLIX vedio?
i mean does the rog 3 play vedio in NETFLIX in high freshrate at 144fps or 120fps like the oneplus 8 pro or oppo find x2 pro ?

I am also interested in knowing abot this , and also if there is image retention at High brightness, can be checked by staying at a static page for 1mint or more the quick switching to to a gray image , like the chrome in dark mode with all tabs closed , I take I screenshot of it an zoom it and out it into full screen that time I can see the ghost image of previously shown page
I'm really interested in the acoustics/ speaker volume - how does this aspect compare to other current flagships & also specifically to ROG 2??
Thanks.

I hope you can check these issues and give us real life feedback
thanks

1. I do not see any reddish tint on gray colors in low brightness levels in low ambient lighting. I tested at 144Hz, 1-20% brightness, dark room, and with the Reddit is Fun app set to a dark gray background.
2. I looked up a 5% grain photo and found a video on YT. At the minimum brightness wherein the picture becomes visible to my eye in a dark room, there's uneven graininess. Raising the brightness a bit and I can see horizontal banding. No issues at higher brightnesses, though.
3. Similar result on the ROG Phone 3, sadly.

Hi
can u check is the Rog phone 3 support 144hz durinng NETFLIX vedio?
i mean does the rog 3 play vedio in NETFLIX in high freshrate at 144fps or 120fps like the oneplus 8 pro or oppo find x2 pro ?

No, the ROG Phone 3 does not support motion estimation/motion compensation, or MEMC, as it's called on the OnePlus 8 Pro or OPPO Find X2 Pro. The OnePlus 8 Pro and OPPO Find X2 Pro can do hardware-accelerated MEMC thanks to a dedicated display processor called the Iris 5, designed by a company called Pixelworks. More details on that here: https://www.xda-developers.com/pixe...ssor-android-display-experience-oppo-find-x2/

I don't see any obvious image retention at high brightnesses.

It's actually not quite as loud as the ROG Phone II. Still gets very loud in comparison to most devices, though. I've mentioned all the audio features that ASUS and Dirac added to the ROG Phone 3 in my review. You can thankfully tweak the speaker quality a bit with the 7-band equalizer and Bass/Treble slider in AudioWizard.
So based on your information, Im deciding to keep my rog2 for another year and see what 2021 brings us.
Hopefully an LCD gaming device or a high quality oled one.
Thank you for your answer
Can you please show the air triggers and how you can use them if you have that on hand?
So little people touch on this feature or expand on how it's used and I'm very curious as the rog 2 I have has had beta gestures forever.

I posted extensively about the AirTriggers in my review. What more do you want to know?
1)is there FM radio
2) Is 3rd party application shown on always on display
Can the AirTrigger functions be mapped for usage in other non-game Apps/ functions (including torch/ camera/ audio player etc)?
If not possible in stock, will custom ROMs (if they happen for ROG 3) be able to re-map AirTrigger functions?

Yes, you can set AirTriggers to work in non-gaming apps. I just mapped the left/right shoulder buttons to previous/next in Google Play Music. One problem: the stock camera app can't be added to ArmouryCrate. Further, when I added GCam, the camera viewfinder was totally black when I launched it. I suspect that the camera is being blocked by the overlay in some way.
The sound system benefits (volume/ bass/ enhancements etc) are only during gaming, or throughout general usage of phone (calls/ music/ videos)?
Thanks for the awesome review
Could u plz tell the following

Already answered in post #6 towards the end.....
I have been a loyal Pixel customer until now. I love my Pixel 4 XL, which is working very well. However, I am blown away by the ROG 3 specs. I am especially attracted to the display and the audio in addition to the fast performance. I have three questions for you i
1) What was your experience like with the display. Will it blow the Pixel 4 XL out of the water?
2) What was your experience with the performance like in comparison to other phones?
3) Is Asus good about updates ( yearly system updates as well as security updates on a monthly basis)?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my questions.

Hello, I don't play games on mobile at all yet I'm considering buying this phone simply because of the huge battery and speaker setup as those are the most important for me.
Do you think I should go for it?

I got the ROG Phone 2 for that same reason, and I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. You can go for the ROG Phone 3 for with the same results. Only difference there is that there is no built in headphone jack. I came from the OP7 Pro, so the only thing you'll miss is the higher quality display.

General Mi 11 Lite 5G Review

It has been a week since I started using this phone and here is my review:
- So light and so thin. There is no other phone like it.
- Everything is very smooth and fast.
- No heating issues. I usually take a break when I first setup a phone (large file transfer, mass installation of apps...etc.) for I do not like holding a hot chunk of glass, plastic, or aluminium. I did not experience that with this phone.
- Display quality is excellent. My last phone had deltaE score of 1.4 and I assume 11L5G is probably in that area too. In other words, near perfect white balance and color reproduction.
I am not sure if I have the pentile or the other inferior display. All I know is that it is indistinguishable from AMOLED used in S10 Plus and top notch LCD screen of my previous phone.
- Camera. It has noticeable and annoying lag in low light situation. I am not talking about dark dark settings but just indoor situation. I press the shutter then it takes a photo just when I start wondering if I did not press the shutter button. Since such shutter lag is just a strange problem I never experienced on other phones, I expect it to be fixed on next update.
- Build quality is quite good and its back panel looks very premium.
- Vibration motor is excellent. This is the one area where manufactures cut corners and I am glad it is the not case this time.
- Widevine L1 even after unlock. But you cannot install NetFlix from Playstore but APK install works fine.
Overall, I am very much pleased with this phone. If you want a phone that is light and thin, you have no other choice but to go with this one. Ever since introduction of 5G, the market kept pumping out thick and heavy phones. Xiaomi too until this phone. What's great is that this phone is not just light but comes with great CPU, display, large battery, build quality, vibration motor and everything. It would've been perfect if no shutter lag issue. I do expect the issue to be fixed since it cannot possibly be a hardware problem.
EDIT: I retract what I said about display quality. It is, indeed, distinguishable from AMOLED used in S10 Plus or my previous phone which uses LCD with 441 ppi. Text do not appear as sharp as those. It is micro blurry and you may not even notice it if your sight is not so very good. I am still not sure if my phone came with pentile or delta though.
Tried Gcam 8.1 forced 4k60 on main lens, works well, Snapdragon 780G 5G version

It's been a while, around 2 years since I used Gcams. I am currently trying various copies of Gcams. Many works well but it sucks is that there seems to be no config file that is for S5KGW3 sensor.

I'm having the same issue. Last week I have ordered the Mi 11 Lite 5G and when watching videos (War Thunder for example) the lack of details in those videos is big compared to my Redmi Note 8 Pro. The screen is also slightly brighter and discoloured. That probably means we have the RGB Delta screen.
Hi,
I'm planning to buy a Mi 11 lite 5G.
What about battery life ?

I checked and confirm that I do have delta panel. However, I cannot tell a difference when watching a video. The difference is only noticeable when reading fine text. That is compared to my previous device Honor 20 which has superb 440 ppi LCD screen.

Battery life is highly subjective - everyone's usage patter is different.
AccuBattery Battery Health shows that my device has 3561 mah estimated capacity. And it gets me about 10h 30 min. of on screen time. Note that I do not game and use phone mainly for browsing stuff and apps that are not heavy.

I am very disappointed about it. The capacity of the battery is only at 90%. I have to reload several times a day. My old Poco F1 lasts longer.... With the same apps.

I don't use my phone too much. Currently, I have a Oneplus 5T that is almost 5 years old and I only charge it every couple of days, so I hope to do the same with this one.

I came from a oneplus 5T.
5T I could not get past a whole day without charging once, warp charge is still fast but still.
Mi 11 lite I can go the whole day and it charges fast if needed.
Yes, fast charge is very efficient, with 33W it's better than the OP5T with 20W.

I have an issue with Bluetooth, it doesn't automatically connect to paired devices like my car (most importantly), speaker or laptop.
I have searched for a solution on Internet but couldn't find a fix. BTW same problem on my Poco F2 pro and Oppo X2pro. All are global rom.
Has anyone a solution for this problem?
What about carriers AT&T won't work with it the 410 MCT won't stick on apn
Guys I'm having issues with heating. Could you check your battery temperature while doing some normal app browsing? I'm getting 33-37c
