Question Anyone know how to re-configure visual voicemail so that it works for T-Mobile? - Sony Xperia 5 IV

Does anyone know how to re-configure visual voicemail files/settings/configuration so that it works with T-Mobile US? I have root and I have a feeling it's just a matter of editing a file or two.

Forwarding when busy/no answer

I have a siemens sx56 and AT&T in the US.
The call forwarding settings on the device default to AT&T's voicemail system. This is something I'd like to change (I want it to go to my voicemail-to-email system)
AT&T says that this is "unsupported" and I can only forward all calls to a number other than their voicemail number.
Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this? I assume that the fwding numbers are stored on their network somewhere, so when my phone is off/out of range (which is quite often)....
Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

AT&T Visual Voicemail on Unlocked Vibrant

Has anyone figured out how to do this?

Can't change voicemail to Google Voice

I've seen some other people say they had this problem, but no solution other than "I did it a lot and then it worked". When I go to change the voicemail provider I get the warning/error, hit yes, and get "forwarding number failed to change". Does anyone know how I can get this to work?
you need to manually put your gvoice number in forwarding options. this will change your carrier number to gvoice, but carrier name won't chahne. don't worry gvoicemail will work thou. I assume you are on stock. Also, check the ATT visual voicemail thread somewhere here it was also discussed there.
hmm I changed it to my access number already, and that didn't work... I'll try again and check out the att vvm threads. Thanks

[Q] HTC AT&T VVM working on international except when on wifi

Part with the questions:
I am attempting to get the the stock HTC Visual Voicemail app for AT&T working on the international ROM, and I am running into an odd issue that I was hoping someone might be able to help me with. I have managed to get the app (mostly) working. The icon shows up, and the VVM app is accessible through messages and the phone apps.
What doesn't work, is that you cannot check for new voicemails while on wireless. It will give the following error:
"No mobile data connection detected. Visual Voicemail does not work on a Wi-Fi connection. Turn mobile data on or call Voicemail for new messages."
I have mobile data on, and everything will work fine when not connected to wireless. Has anyone else had this problem when importing those apps? If so, how did you overcome it?
Continued reading:
While I am aware that there are a couple of ROMs out there that have this working, I am more interested in learning how to do this than just using somebody else's work. Plus, I believe the other ROMs were based on the dev edition (though I could be wrong about that).
This is an intellectual exercise for me, and my curiosity has gotten the better of me on this one.
I would really appreciate any help that can be given!

P.S. To be clear, I am just trying to solve this problem for fun. Once I've finished, I will probably go to Google Voice for my visual voicemail needs. I am not interested in alternative solutions. I have already figured out that the playstore version can be installed from the apk, as well as some other options.

Try this go to settings in the phone app and put this in for the voicemail number +19168062996. Otherwise call customer care. It works fine on mine. I side loaded the visual voicemail apk and its working good so you can go that route too but everything has to be provisioned right.
